A Hundred Days - Janet Scenes:

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

THE CORRIDOR: FRAISER and HAMMOND are walking towards us.

FRAISER:

I completed my autopsy on Major Graham.  There was an unidentifiable residue from the explosion, but no indication he was under any kind of chemical influence.  To be honest, sir, if the goa'uld were trying to cover up their work they did a good job.

HAMMOND:

What about the information about the Zatarcs provided by the Tok'ra?

FRAISER:

Pretty limited to speculation, sir.  I did a full examination of Major Graham before he went to Vorash and he seemed to be in perfect health.  His blood work was clean, last psyche evaluation was normal.  If his brain was altered in any way, it was done by technology far beyond my understanding.

HAMMOND:

Will this Zatarc detector actually work?

FRAISER:

It's alien technology, I have no way of knowing.

HAMMOND:

Then we're completely in the hands of the Tok'ra on this one.

FRAISER:

The colonel must be happy about that.

HAMMOND:

I'm not thrilled about it myself, Doctor.

They separate - HAMMOND walks up the stairs, and FRAISER heads back the way they came.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

TESTING ROOM: We see someone being strapped into the chair, and as the camera pans back we see it is ASTOR.  Once she is strapped in, the two SFs move to take their positions by the door.

ASTOR:

I have to admit, I'm a little scared.

The camera alters briefly to show the view from ASTOR's position.  We see ANISE just in front of her, and O'NEILL, FRAISER, HAMMOND and MARTOUF in the OBSERVATION AREA.  The camera continues to change between these angles.

ASTOR:

Actually, that's not true.  I'm terrified.

ANISE:

I understand.  Please try to stay calm.

ASTOR:

I swear I shot that Jaffa.  Major Graham returned with Captain Blasdale and Sergeant Lewis.

ANISE:

You said you were surrounded.  Jaffa were everywhere.  Six other SG team members died that night, yet you and your team managed to get through the Stargate unharmed.

ASTOR:

I thought we were just that good.

The camera moves to a close up of O'NEILL and we see his reaction to that statement.  We then move back to ANISE and ASTOR.

ANISE:

I am going to begin.

The beam from the Zatarc machine starts scanning and working on ASTOR.

ASTOR:

It hurts.  Stop, please!  Stop!

MARTOUF:

Stop the procedure.

ANISE shuts down the machine.

ASTOR screams and rips of her restraints.  She starts fighting her way out, and manages to get an SF's gun.  She starts shooting, at least one shot going through the observation window and we see FRAISER, HAMMOND and MARTOUF duck for cover.  HAMMOND covers FRAISER.  O'NEILL arrives through the main door to the room

O'NEILL:

Astor!

ASTOR turns towards O'NEILL, and he ducks behind the wall for cover.  Everyone looks round as ASTOR starts to aim the gun towards herself.

ANISE:

No!

We hear a gunshot, and then see the reactions of O'NEILL, ANISE, HAMMOND, MARTOUF and FRAISER.  HAMMOND has his arm around FRAISER's shoulders.  We end on O'NEILL's reaction again.

…SCENE ENDS.

The next scene begins with HAMMOND getting off the phone after speaking with FRAISER.  However, she's not in the remainder of the scene.

FRAISER is present throughout the first testing of SG-1, however she doesn't speak.  The biggest reaction we see is her shaking her head once we find out O'NEILL's test was positive.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

BRIEFING ROOM: All present are sitting around the briefing table.

TEAL'C:

I do not believe that Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter are Zatarcs.

JACKSON:

We can't prove they aren't.

MARTOUF:

We must continue to keep them isolated in order to prevent them from being... exposed to their programming triggers.

HAMMOND:

We don't know for sure it's the president.

ANISE:

No.

HAMMOND:

Then we're talking about keeping them confined indefinitely.

FRAISER:

At least until we can come up with another course of action.

ANISE:

The good news is that we have found no more Zatarcs among SGC personnel.  The high councillor and his advisors have also been tested back on Vorash.  There should be no danger to the summit meeting.

HAMMOND:

I want good news regarding Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter.

HAMMOND gets out of his seat and starts to walk off.

FRAISER:

We'll keep working on it, sir.

MARTOUF:

What shall I tell the high councillor regarding the meeting with the president?

HAMMOND stops to answer.

HAMMOND:

It's on.

HAMMOND leaves.  FRAISER looks back at MARTOUF, then we see JACKSON and TEAL'C's reactions.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

BRIEFING ROOM:  All present are sitting around the briefing table.

ANISE:

I understand why they wouldn't trust me.

JACKSON:

I think it's more that they would rather risk dying than lose who they are.

HAMMOND:

We can be sure they won't threaten the president, but how do we keep them from harming themselves during the summit?

FRAISER:

We plan to sedate them and put them in restraints.

JACKSON:

Until when?

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

CORRIDOR: FRAISER is wheeling a trolley into the ISOLATION ROOM where O'NEILL is being held.  JACKSON and ANISE are also present.

FRAISER:

It's the only way we can be absolutely sure you won't try and hurt yourself.

O'NEILL:

No choice?

FRAISER:

No.

In the background JACKSON lowers his head.

FRAISER:

You won't feel anything, it'll be like falling asleep.

O'NEILL:

For how long?

FRAISER:

As long as it takes to find a treatment with better odds than the one we have available.

JACKSON:

The president is due to arrive in less than an hour.

TEAL'C enters.

O'NEILL:

Come to say your goodbyes?

TEAL'C:

If there's anything that you require, O'Neill...

O'NEILL:

Another option.

ANISE:

There is still time to try the procedure.

FRAISER looks almost amused ANISE is even suggesting it again.

O'NEILL:

You said if you could have done a proper autopsy on Astor you might have been able to solve this thing

ANISE:

It would have provided much more information.

O'NEILL:

Do it.

JACKSON:

What?

O'NEILL:

Hey, I've done the drugged-out, strapped-to-the-bed thing.

JACKSON:

And if what happens to Lieutenant Astor happens to you?

O'NEILL:

Maybe it'll help Carter.  Her brain's worth a lot more than mine.

EVERYONE looks away in reaction to his decision, unsure what to say or do.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN…

CARTER'S ISOLATION ROOM: CARTER is standing, with JACKSON and FRAISER.

CARTER:

What?  He can't!

JACKSON:

He's on his way down now.

CARTER:

Wh- Why is he doing this?

JACKSON:

He said he'd rather take the risk, instead of being put to sleep indefinitely.

CARTER:

But Astor-

FRAISER:

If it happens, he thinks Anise can use what she would learn to save you.

CARTER moves between FRAISER and JACKSON, and rushes towards the door.

    JACKSON:

Sam.

Two SFs stop CARTER from leaving the room.

CARTER:

Colonel!

CARTER watches as O'NEILL is escorted down the corridor away from her.  She then moves back towards FRAISER and JACKSON.

CARTER:

You have to stop him.

JACKSON:

It's his choice.

FRAISER:

Sam, please, I have to do this.

CARTER moves back to her position at the back of the room, and FRAISER follows.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN…

CARTER'S ISOLATION ROOM: A nurse hands FRAISER the sedative, which she then administers to CARTER's IV line.  The camera pans down to CARTER who is watching what's being done, and doesn't look happy with what's happening to her.

CARTER:

Janet.

The camera shows FRAISER's face, though she says nothing.  CARTER looks away, redirecting her gaze towards the ceiling.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN…

CARTER'S ISOLATION ROOM: The sedatives are starting to take their effect on CARTER.

CARTER:

Colonel...

We see CARTER remember O'NEILL walking away from her down the corridor.  We then see her remember O'NEILL trying to bring down the force shield on the Goa'uld vessel.

CARTER (in flashback):

Sir, there's no time.

FRAISER:

We may have to increase the dose.

CARTER:

C4's gonna go.  You have to get outta here.

O'NEILL (in flashback):

No!

CARTER manages to open her eyes.

CARTER:

The machine is wrong.  You... you don't understand.  We lied.

    FRAISER looks round in surprise.

CARTER:

We didn't even know we were lying.  Please.

FRAISER looks at CARTER quizzically.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

TESTING ROOM: ANISE is ready to begin the procedure on O'NEILL.

ANISE:

If you are ready, we will begin.

The camera shows TEAL'C holding a zat on O'NEILL, who is strapped into the chair.  We then see FRAISER run into the OBSERVATION AREA behind ANISE.  FRAISER knocks urgently on the window.

FRAISER (through the microphone):

Stop!

ANISE stops what she is doing, and everyone looks at FRAISER.

…SCENE ENDS.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

CORRIDOR: FRAISER leads CARTER into the TESTING ROOM by the arm, then lets her walk towards O'NEILL alone.  TEAL'C and ANISE are also still present.

O'NEILL:

Carter?  What's up?

CARTER speaks to those behind her, but doesn't quite turn around to face them.

CARTER:

Could we have a moment alone, please?

ANISE, TEAL'C, FRAISER and the SF all leave.

CARTER:

Thanks.

O'NEILL:

Carter, undo this thing?

CARTER:

Yeah.

CARTER takes off O'NEILL's head restraint.

O'NEILL:

What's goin' on?

CARTER:

We're not Zatarcs.

O'NEILL:

How do you know?

CARTER:

The machine thinks that we have false memories, but we don't.  We were lying.

O'NEILL:

I wasn't lying.

CARTER:

Okay, you left something out.

O'NEILL:

No I didn't.

CARTER:

Sir, when you wouldn't leave me... are you sure there wasn't something else that you're not admitting?

O'NEILL (looking confused):

What are you talkin' about?

CARTER:

Something neither one of us can admit, given our working relationship, our military ranks.

O'NEILL:

Oh.  Oh, that.

CARTER:

Sir, we weren't telling the whole truth, and that's why the machine thinks the memories are false.

O'NEILL:

Really?

CARTER and O'NEILL communicate the end of their conversation with their head movements.  CARTER turns around to address the others once more.

CARTER:

Retest him.

…SCENE ENDS.

FRAISER observes with TEAL'C as O'NEILL and CARTER are retested, and the reason for their previous positive tests becomes apparent.  Once CARTER is cleared, FRAISER and TEAL'C leave the OBSERVATION AREA.

SCENE BEGINS IN THE…

TESTING ROOM: O'NEILL moves to remove CARTER's restraints.

O'NEILL:

Carter.

CARTER:

Sir.  {She stands.}  None of this has to leave this room.

The door starts to open.

O'NEILL:

We're okay with that?

CARTER:

Yes, sir.

FRAISER walks in, and O'NEILL and CARTER turn away from each other to face her.  She is standing beside ANISE.

FRAISER:

Alright, so if they're not Zatarcs, then they're no threat to the president.

O'NEILL:

Oh, I have some questions for him.

ANISE:

Every SGC personnel has been tested.  Even the high councillor and his personal guard were tested on Vorash before they came.

O'NEILL:

Hey, what about you?  You ever been tested on that thing?

ANISE:

I have not been in any situations where I would be vulnerable to the Goa'uld Zatarc technology.

CARTER:

What about Martouf?

THE END (for Janet in this episode).
